     DEMOCRACIA: “An opera program for the Gala Soirée at the Colón.”
 
     Prestigious program.
 
     In commemoration of the 133 anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, the traditional gala soirée, attended by high national authorities, diplomats, with military and municipal personnel, will be held today in the Teatro Colón.
     Beginning with the National Hymn, sung by the chorus of students from the Conservatorio "Manuel de Falla", they will present a musical program that includes:  the Overture and "Casta diva" scene with chorus from the first act of Bellini's opera Norma, followed by the "Jewel Song" from the the second act of Gounod's Faust, and concluding with the third act of Puccini's opera Turandot.
     The orchestra will be directed by maestri Tullio Serafin and Héctor Panizza.
