     LA ÉPOCA: “Gala performance in the Colón.”

     Prestigious Show.
 
     At 9 o'clock in the Teatro Colón, with the attendance of high national authorities, diplomats, and municipal and military personnel, the traditional gala soirée celebrating the anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, will be offered.  Beginning with the National Hymn, sung by the chorus of students of the Conservatorio Municipal "Manuel de Falla", under the orchestral direction of maestro Héctor Panizza, scenes from the following operas will be presented: "Casta diva" from Bellini's Norma, with Maria Callas, and Nicolas Rossi Lemeni, directed by Tullio Serafin; "Jewel Song" from Gounod's Faust, with Helena Arizmendi, directed by Héctor Panizza; and the third act of Turandot directed by Tullio Serafin, interpreted by Maria Callas, Nicola Rossi Lemeni, Renato Cesari, Roberto Maggiolo, Carlos Giusti, and Virgilio Tavini.
