EL MUNDO: "Norma was sung in the Teatro Colón".

[...] Norma found an exceptional protagonist in Maria Callas, who rose to the occasion more than she had in Turandot. Her voice readily displayed its many gifts: a great extension, generous volume, and that which surprised most of all in a dramatic soprano, a remarkable agility in coloratura passages permitting her to sing an unsurpassed "Casta diva". If she appeared to lack a bit of force in a dramatic moment, it was quickly forgotten by her expressive phrasing, her impeccable style, and her stage presence. Fedora Barbieri was a first-class Adalgisa. The bass, Nicola Rossi-Lemeni, was a splendid Oroveso, both in vocal terms and in stage demeanor. [...] The orchestra accompaniment of Maestro Tullio Serafin didn’t distinguish itself either in expression or in care for details. [...]
The public rewarded the principals with long applause. Eduardo Arnosi.
